Peso’s Happy hour means cheap drinks, right? You might be disappointed to hear that Peso’s happy hour (3–6 p.m. and 10 p.m.–1 a.m. daily) doesn’t feature drink specials, though their amazing happy-hour food menu more than makes up for it. At $3 to $4 apiece, plates like prawn-avocado-cucumber salad and spicy fried calamari make refreshing, satisfying treats. Burnt red and tan walls combine with wrought-iron work throughout the restaurant to create a low-lit, fun atmosphere. This adventurous Mexican joint is quite a scene these days, yet the affordable happy-hour menu means you don’t have to be a Queen Anne yuppie to go there. 605 Queen Anne Ave. N., 206-283-9353.
