For one day (Saturday, October 3) in one neighborhood (Ballard) Seattle Weekly’s Reverb Festival presents more than 60 local bands at ten different venues along and around Old Ballard Avenue. The music starts as early as 3:00 p.m., covering a multitude of genres, and you can check out the SCHEDULE online to plan your attack. Ballard will be amped to the gills, and we offer this to you for a measly $8 (advance purchase, BUY HERE).Dan Aykroyd is something of a booze mogul. He’s got his hands in some fine Canadian ice wine, has a partnership with DeLoach in California, is part stakeholder for Patron distribution rights in Canada, and is the celebrity spokesperson for a vodka that comes in a crystal head. He also started the House of Blues franchise. In short, this Ghostbuster is richer than fucking Croesus. He’s in town this week to sign bottles of Crystal Head vodka tomorrow at store #101 (1702 4th Ave. S.) from 4:00-6:00 p.m., and Wednesday at the U-Village liquor store (south entrance next to grocery store), also 4:00-6:00 p.m.. Urban Eats is happening in October — which means starting this Thursday. You know the drill: Three courses for $30, available Sunday through Thursday at participating restaurants. There aren’t many stinkers on the list, but some restaurants give better promo than others. Call or visit these places online to see what they offer, and go for the joints that offer more than chicken vs. mushroom risotto as main course options. A full list of restaurants is available HERE, if you wish to brave the Times’ slow-loading pop-up ads. (Really, guys? That’s sooo 2001.)
