Easy-going, cozy, and blessed with a killer view, the Lookout brings simple pub food to the north end of the hill, including fantastic super-crisp fries (they’re battered first). The bar serves $3 microbrews, $4 well drinks, and $4 glasses of wine for happy hour (4:00-7:00 p.m.). All you have to do is get there early enough to snag a spot on the deck or the upper dining area inside for views of Lake Union, the Space Needle, and the Olympics beyond. It’s especially beautiful on a night like last night, when the weather changed and puffy clouds formed and sprinted across the sky. (The Lookout, 757 Bellevue Ave. E., open 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. every day)
