Do you enjoy clever use of the English language? Do you also like drinking cocktails? Do you like to drink cocktails and make up funny nursery rhymes or dirty limericks? Either way, we won’t judge. But you may want to go to the reading and signing of Hickory Daiquiri Dock by author/dancer/choreographer Tim Federle as he tells tales of cocktails inspired by children’s nursery rhymes. He’ll be at the University Book Store on December 9 at 7pm to talk books, drinks and rhyming games. No word on if the “man from Nantucket” will be attending.

Remember the days of the ice cream man coming through your neighborhood with all the fanfare and a dozen crazed kids foaming at the mouth? Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a healthy version of the ice cream truck that sported fresh fruit and vegetables? Well the city of Toronto thinks so as several entities have partnered up to bring mobile groceries to neighborhoods without access to a grocery store. Picture vegans running after bio-diesel wagons full of produce. Ahh, Utopia exists somewhere every day.
