Did you know that hundreds of people in the Seattle city limits raise chickens? And did you know that there exists a magazine entitled Backyard Poultry? Well, it’s a bi-monthly. But seriously,we live amidst an under aboveground world of city chickens.Saturday July 14th, Seattle Tilth, keepers of much of that which is organic, are holding a chicken coop tour of Northwest Seattle. Homes in Magnolia, Queen Anne, Ballard, and Phinney Ridge will participate in the open house, from noon to 4:00 p.m.. Peek into this D.I.Y. world, ask questions, and bone up on the aesthetics of coop design. Maps provided with registration ($20 for a family of four). You provide transportation.Two weeks ago, I didn’t know this world existed, now I’m thinking about the coop of my dreams.
