Despite the fact that Pagliacci will not deliver to his own love shack in the southern reaches of West Seattle, SW Managing Editor Mike Seely nonetheless made the delivery earlier this week as the Weekly presented Pagliacci with a Best of SeattleR Lifetime Achievement Award. As noted in this week’s issue, we decided that after 22 years as the reigning champ in the Best Pizza category, it was time to term-limit Pagliacci out and ask readers for a new Best Pizza winner. Their answer here. But in recognition of the fact that Pagliacci is clearly the people’s choice into perpetuity, we commissioned a golden pizza slice to present to the company as a Lifetime Achievement Award. The awesome Erin Shafkind created the award. (Thanks Erin!) And Mike bestowed it on Pagliacci operations director Jeff Woodruff, seen above, at the company’s Lower Queen Anne restaurant. (Ironically, Woodruff himself lives in Arbor Heights and can’t get Pag delivery either.) KOMO TV was on hand to capture the excitement.
