1. KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn expands its reach to the Eastside with the opening of its seventh location in Bellevue Square. 25 flavors, including Truffle Fromage Porcini and Hawaiian Salted Caramel are available on level two of the mall Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

2. In more changes for the Eastside, the Downtown Bellevue Network reports that after over four years of business Boom Noodle’s Bellevue Square location has shuttered. Asian-inspired eatery Kaisho is slated to open in the space next month.

3. Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections will demo how to prepare tiramisu trifle, plum jam and museli from her new cookbook Sweet: Inspired Ingredients, Unforgettable Desserts at Fremont’s Book Larder this Sunday from 10:00 am till noon. Gordon launched her first sweet shop in L.A.’s Silver Lake neighborhood in 2003 and now operates three brick-and-mortar bakeries around the city.

4. The Calf & Kid owner Sheri LaVigne hopes to raise $45,000 via Kickstarter to help launch the city’s first full-service cheese bar. All that queso will be paired with beer, wine and booze. Yes, please. If everything goes according to plan, expect to have that good ol’ “lactic craving” satisfied somewhere in Ballard early next year.
