That’s why Harley’s got bars on its must-hit list.In the Dept. of Well-Deserved Honors That Should Surprise No One, Harley-Davidson recently released results from a dealer poll that ranked West Seattle’s Alki Tavern among the region’s best destinations for motorcycle enthusiasts.Pioneer Square was also tapped for its “great night life with parking on the sidewalk,” as was The Royal Bear, which Harley touts as “the best biker bar in the city.” The city where The Royal Bear is located is the South King County hamlet of Algona, population 2,814. We think “best” and “only” are probably interchangeable there, although we don’t doubt that the Bear is a fine place to pull over and tilt back. That said, having recently witnessed a convoy of choppers swinging through Shoreline on a sunny day for much good cheer, we’re a bit surprised Darrell’s Tavern didn’t make the list. Maybe next year; ’til then, Sturgis or bust!
