Bakeman’s is a subterranean cafeteria on Cherry Street known mainly for its homemade meatloaf sandwiches and Soup Nazi demeanor of its longtime proprietor, Jason Wang. Less known about Bakeman’s is the restaurant offers daily entree specials for $7 or less. Usually, this means stroganoff or pot roast. But today one of the specials was lamb shank — and it was delicious. I expect a lot out of Bakeman’s — it was one of the inspirations for my Bottomfeeder column — but I never expected lamb shank. For $7. I just thought I’d say it again, because eventually I’ll start believing what just met my mouth.
