At the Seattle Times, Providence Cicero gives Wild Vine Bistro in Bothell an A for effort, but says the menu’s way too big for its young chef to do right. One of the most tactful (in a good way) bad reviews I’ve read all year. In “Dining Deals,” Danny O’Neil chases down Maximus/Minimus.BJC at the Stranger does not review Tavern Law, Dana Tough and Brian McCracken’s new speakeasy-themed bar in Capitol Hill. No she doesn’t. ‘Cause that would be wrong.Surly Gourmand appears to have returned from his hiatus (finally!) with a review of Tortas Locas in Burien. Mentions of your mother: 0. Mentions of condoms: 1. Clearly, ol’ Surl was on hiatus at an EST retreat, or else he’s still stunned by all the meat in the torta cubana. Om Nom Nom Nom gives some love to Tutta Bella (both the one in Columbia City and the one in South Lake Union), with a formal final rating of 3.5 doughnuts. Whether these are doughnut holes or apple fritters, ONNN does not say.
