As part of Canning Across America, Lucy Norris, coleader of Slow Food Seattle and author of Pickled: Preserving a World of Tastes and Traditions, leads a class at the Nutrition Kitchen at Bastyr University this Saturday entitled Great Pickles for Eating and Giving. At the end of this hands-on lesson in canning and pickling, you’ll be able to take home your own pickled beets, spicy carrot spears, and daikon radish refrigerated pickles.
