After a few slow weeks, Ballard is once again sweeping the competition in terms of restaurant openings. Leading the pack in popularity and anticipation, Delancey, the much-talked about wood fired pizza spot on 70th St. N.W., is officially open as of today. Also new in Ballard is Three Girls Bakery on 15th Ave. As of yet they have no espresso, and their credit card machines don’t work….but both will be coming soon, they promise. Fremont Universe has alerted us that Solsticio, a little eatery, is about to open on Stone Way and 34th. The owner says she can’t wait to cater to the neighborhood, and especially the hungry and thirsty bicyclists. Also open as of today is Porterhouse, the new restaurant/pub by Admiral Theater in West Seattle. Open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for starters, Porterhouse defines itself as “pub food with a twist.”Jonathan Kauffman says he passed Jasmine Provincial Vietnamese Cuisine on MLK the other day to see all the furniture cleared out and the banners gone. No official word from Jasmine yet, as the Web site is still up and running, but having no chairs is usually a clue.
