Seattle-based social-gifting app Gratafy is rolling out version 2.0 in the L.A. market on August 21. The app that lets friends send food and drinks as gifts via Facebook launched in Seattle last fall.

The second annual Northwest Tequila Fest is happening outside the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Saturday, August 24. This year, more than 130 tequilas and mezcals from 40 producers will be on display, with food from vendors including Little Water Cantina and Poquitos. The event runs from 4 to 9 pm. Tickets are available online.

Local “sustainable sandwich” chainlet Homegrown opened a new shop downtown at Second Avenue and Marion Street. Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

James Beard Best Chef NW award-winner Maria Hines is celebrating the seventh birthday of her Wallingford restaurant Tilth with a Bourbon + BBQ pop-up on Saturday, August 31. The menu includes bone marrow and tomato jam on toast and kohlrabi and cabbage slaw paired with about half a dozen bourbons. Local celeb chef Matt Dillon and Marigold and Mint’s Katherine Anderson’s new wine bar/mini-mercantile The London Plane is open for business.
