Best Indian: Taste of India

The people have spoken.

Taste of India

The promise of bottomless chai may get you in the door, but once inside Taste of India, the smell of rich and spicy Indian comfort food will entice you to order more. Great for groups and a low-key dining experience, the restaurant is known for hearty, shareable dishes that include juicy tandoori chicken and sweet and spicy mango curry. Regulars also recommend the garlic naan—a huge, warm, golden flatbread, great for dipping in a variety of distinctive sauces and chutneys. 5517 Roosevelt Way N.E., 528-1575

First runner-up: Annapurna

Second runner-up: Araya’s Place

Honorable mention: Bengal Tiger, Bombay House
