Best Coffee: Stumptown

The people have spoken.

Amid the array of Emerald City roasters and espresso-shot pullers, it might be hard to believe that a Portland-born coffee shop could rule supreme, but Stumptown is that good. The business opened two Seattle locations in 2007, both on Capitol Hill, where you can find its rich, creamy lattes and transformative Americanos anytime you’re in the neighborhood. 1115 12th Ave., 323-1544; 616 E. Pine St., 711-3390

First runner-up: Caffe Vita

Second runner-up: Victrola

Honorable mention: Zeitgeist Cafe, Cafe Flora
