Triumph of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death

Friday, August 15

Just because Triumph of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death contains ex-Murder City Devils Spencer Moody and Dann Gallucci doesn’t mean you should expect the same species of noisy punk rock made for blackening someone’s eye with a flailing limb. No, this project is mostly trippy static, with a touch of twang (is that why there are almost always several pairs of cowboy boots for sale at Anne Bonny? Not that I’m criticizing…), tipsy vocals and the occasional screamer reminiscent of days gone by. Punk purists and avid Murder City Devils fans may not appreciate this more experimental approach with the same fervor, but give ’em a shot live before you make your final decision. And if you really need some riffage and blackened eyes in your life, modern hair metal maven Sunday Night Blackout shares the bill, so you won’t come away from King Cobra disappointed.
