It would be easy to dismiss the Cults Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy as the Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of British hard rock, as they have burned through sideman like Lil Wayne though rolling papers. The biggest difference of course, lies with the Cults sound which, while rooted in Duffys distinctive big guitar styling, has continuously been an evolutionary process. Given that Astburys vocals still sound like a million bucks, this may be one of those occasions where you wont feel like youve missed something not seeing them back in the day, a trait rare in bands with a 30-year plus career span.
