The B-52’s

Glitter on the mattress. Glitter on the highway. Glitter on the front porch. Glitter on the hallway. Gay America is now simply America, so it seems fitting that, during Pride Week, America’s gayest New Wave band is playing a county park near Microsoft that’s best known for its ample dog run. These days, the once-conservative Eastside, like so many suburban communities around the country, not only tolerates Fred Schneider’s lispy sprechgesang, it supports his right to knock a little louder, sugar, until the church door opens and vows are exchanged.
