Starving Artists Theater Company is an awfully small organization to have received so many critical plaudits—it’s just two guys, performer Mark Pikosh and writer Godfrey Hamilton. The pair have toured everywhere from Hawaii to Paris and Munich. Their most recent work, Take Me With You, was commissioned by Central London Arts and won rapturous critical praise (plus a BBC adaptation). Now they’re back home in Seattle with one of their most popular pieces, Road Movie, a romance of the highway in which Pikosh plays multiple roles to tell the story of a man driving to California to get his heart right again. So to hell with the gas prices—enjoy some visceral storytelling that’ll make you feel you’ve had an exhilarating trip down the blacktop without ever leaving your theater seat. Balagan Theatre, 1117 E. Pike St., 718-3245, www.balagantheatre.org. $12–$15. 8 p.m. JOHN LONGENBAUGH Thu., June 5, 8 p.m., 2008
