Starving Artists Theater Company is an awfully small organization to receive the sort of critical plaudits that theyve gottenits just two guys, really, performer Mark Pikosh and writer Godfrey Hamilton. The pair have toured everywhere from Hawaii to Paris and Munich, with a lot of points in-betweentheir most recent work, Take Me With You, was commissioned by Central London Arts and won rapturous critical praise, as well as being filmed for British television and broadcast on the BBC. Now theyre back in Seattle with one of their most popular pieces, Road Movie, a romance of the road where Pikosh plays multiple roles to tell the story of a love gone wrong and a man who takes a trip to California in hopes of getting his heart right again. So to hell with the gas pricesenjoy some visceral storytelling thatll make you feel youve had an exhilarating trip down the blacktop without ever leaving your theater seat. Balagan Theater, 1117 E.
