Resident Media’s DJs are found playing the best hip-hop all over town—the garishly decorated mega-club Venom, ye olde War Room, and on Thursdays, the Belltown bar Viceroy, with “Rebirth of Slick.” So if under-the-viaduct isn’t your scene, you can still hear great tunes in a plush, comfortable lounge that’s too often overlooked. Maybe not by downtowners in general, but by Linda’s clientele who follow the fish and fowl to her more recent bars like Smith and King’s. This is her only one that feels appropriate for having a martini, or for listening to neo-soul. Viceroy has all the charm of a mid-century mod rumpus room—and only one boar head on the wall.
