Rat City Rollergirl Night

“Drinking and driving don’t mix. That’s why I ride a bike.” Or so Duckie famously declared in Pretty in Pink, despite the drink in question being a juice box and the vehicle a bicycle. His M.O. also applies to this non-skating, non-competitive social gathering, when the Throttle Rockets host Rat City Rollergirl Night. It’s an occasion to celebrate teammate Valtraumada’s “Dos Dos Quinceanera” with Eddy Rock, DJ E-Trash, and Mariachi Madness. It’s also a chance to meet and demand autographs—perhaps in exchange for a drink?—from your favorite roller heroines on the four teams that compose the Rat City league—Derby Liberation Front, Grave Danger, Throttle Rockets, and Sockit Wenches. (The next RCRG bout isn’t until May 17.) Skating home afterward? Even the pros might advise that you do Duckie one better, and hail a cab. The Funhouse, 206 Fifth Ave. N., 374-8400, www.ratcityrollegirls.com. $5. 21 and over. 9:30 p.m. RACHEL SHIMP
