Orange

Orange ya glad there’re so many kick-ass Halloween parties?

Every party at the Lo Fi is supposedly “the last party” before the Eastlake venue changes hands, a clever promotion strategy if there ever was one. But if it’s true this time, their epic Halloween party “Orange” will be a good one to go out on. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Jazzanova’s record label Sonar Kollektiv, locals Sun Tzu Sound have brought out Jazzanova member Alex Barck and Trüby Trio member Roland Appel for special DJ sets. The broken beat, nu-jazz aesthetic of these pioneering artists have inspired nearly every other artist that came through Sun Tzu’s Safari monthly at the Baltic Room (which just ended). Local label Backline Media commands room two with its complete local roster, including scary-talented electronic producers Lusine, Scientific American, and Nordic Soul all playing live, with a DJ set from Battle of the Mega-Mixes champion Kristina Childs. There’s gonna be a sound for every boo-tay (har har) at this one, but if you don’t come in costume, yours might get slapped more than necessary.
