Im going to go ahead and say that anytime you fuse blues and punk, its going to sound awesome. The White Stripes? The Kills? Black Keys? Come on. Its a combination thats guaranteed to express spirit, fire, and soul. The Seattle guitar-and-drum duo My Goodness is one such killer combo. Its unfortunate that all you can hear right now of Joel Schneiders ripping guitar riffs and tough vocals and Ethan Jacobsens vigorous rhythms are a few songs on their MySpace page, but the band recently told us that their self-titled debut should be out sometime in February. Until then, theyre kicking of 2011 with some good deeds at SWs Happy Hour for Hope tonight at the bar slash all-veggie restaurant Highline (proceeds will benefit Brotherton Cadillacs Race for a Ride charities), where the twosome will turn up their amps for a heavy and heady set. I hope all you vegans bring earplugs. ERIN K. THOMPSON
