In the industries of music and film (and pretty much every other realm), deals are generally done while boozing it up. Throw some people in a darkened room with similar interests, get the fire water flowing, and see what happens. Thats the idea behind the Mayors Office of Film and Musics monthly happy hour event, every last Wednesday of the month at Moe Bar. Intended as a networking event to encourage business development among Seattles film and music industry leaders, the happy hour was created by Vera Project founder and current head honcho of the film and music office, James Keblas. Its a great informal way for people to get to know one another, talk business and discuss current issues spanning film and music in Seattle, he says. In a band and want to figure out how to get your music in a movie? You just might catch a lucky break. But a bunch of industry types tossing back shots together before dinner? Some might walk away from this shindig with more than just new business Neumos, 925 E. Pike St., 709-9467. 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Free. AJA PECKNOLD
