Jacob Dahlgren

Yellow and black bull’s eyes are hung in row upon unbroken row along the gallery wall, with a waiting supply of red and green darts. The floor is marked with a throwing line, like an English tavern, and museum-goers are encouraged to take aim and toss. (Instructions tell you which color dart to hurl, depending on where you’re standing.) This interactive Pop Art-inspired installation is I, the world, things, life, by Swedish artist Jacob Dahlgren, who utilizes everyday objects to explore color and pattern. (And conversely: Dahlgren uses color and pattern to examine everyday happenings.) From the collection of Leslie and Dale Chihuly, this piece was seen at the 2007 Venice Biennale. It’s the featured work in “Forward, Back, Right, Left,” which also includes two of Dahlgren’s videos. (Closed Mon.) ADRIANA GRANT
