Icelandic post-rock quartet Sigur Ross music is absolutely haunting with its splay of piano melodies, bowed guitars, and falsetto vocals that bear closer resemblance to sonar signals emitted by dolphins than anything produced by humans. The documentary Heima (Icelandic for home) captures a series of free surprise concerts the beguiling musicians gave in their native land during summer 2006. The band journeys to the most obscure placesabandoned bunkers, fish factories, canyonsto find some very unlikely audiences. The ethereal music combined with the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes of Iceland result in a spectacular spell of a film that even the most casual of Sigur Ros fans will fall under.
