Benefiting the study of acupuncture through pumpkin bowling, herbal sciences through hay rides, and naturopathic medicine through face painting, Bastyr Universitys Haunted Trails is back! This year a Halloween Carnival, including all the above activities, benefits the Universitys study abroad programs. The central event, the Haunted Trails Tour, features mad scientists and the usual crew of sepulchral, supernatural frightswitches, ghouls, goblins and so forthset in the forest behind the schools grounds. Because even brave souls under eight years old are not allowed on the tour, there are alternatives for youngsters and the skittish (of all ages): the Trick Or Treat Trail and Halloween Story Time ($1-$3 per child), and PumpkinFest, a pumpkin-carving contest awarding cash prizes (free to enter; pumpkins due 6 p.m. Fri., Oct. 19).
Fridays, Saturdays, 7-10 p.m. Starts: Oct. 12. Continues through Oct. 20, 2007
