It was the feast of St. Valentine, 1929, when seven of Bugs Morans men entered a garage in Chicagos North Side dressed in their Sunday best. No ones sure why they were there, but 70 rounds from a tommy gun later, all seven were dead in a plot presumably orchestrated by rival mobster Al Capone. Only the dog survived. In honor of this least romantic of Valentines Day gestures, the High Dive is hosting the Great Valentines Day Massacre. Its a musical free-for-all presented by the self-described sweaty music dorks and promoters NadaMucho.com. The massacre pits Nada Muchos favorite indie actsPartman Parthorse heading the billagainst solo buttrock star KEG and his rockers of the metal-inspired ilk, led by Megasapien. The stage will be split with the hipsters and headbangers facing off for your love and attention. A little heartbreak-souvenir bashing is also planned, so bring that adorable photo of you and your ex looking oh-so-in-love and decide: Is it emotive sympathy you need to heal the wounds, or power chords?
