Elixir featuring DJ Collage, DJ Element

Ragamuffins, Robin Hoods, and record slingers

Christmas, ice, and Christmas! Isn’t there anything to do around here that doesn’t involve sitting idly or pretending you’re in an even colder place (see all other entries for this day)? Has SAD hit us already? The doctor is in, and she suggests this night as your preemptive Rx: get on your feet, and feel the warmth of a bass drop at Elixir, “an evening of dub, dancehall, grime, hip-hop, reggae, and breaks.” Lawrence Chatman, one of the finest fellas you’ll meet in Seattle’s club scene, performs live as his ragamuffin persona DJ Collage—he’s a massively underrated local talent, and this week you’ve got no big shows to keep you from showing respect! What’s more, he’s matched with sets from Zion’s Gate Records’ DJ Element, Selecta Gro, and “Dubin Hood,” who purports to come from “a shadowy secret lair in Dubwood Forest” with a live, multi-instrument PA. For one night, fall into some heavy sounds instead of the easy chair.
