With this show, Seattles Aqueductled by the personable and talented David Terryconcludes a remarkably successful, national-breakthrough kinda year. It began in February with the release of Or Give Me Death, Aqueducts finest album to date, which focuses on keyboard-rich, alternately exuberant and wistful indie-pop through a Steely Dan lens. The rest of 07 featured well-received sets at Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot, and Sasquatch, and non-stop touring with the likes of the Apples in Stereo and Georgie James (including one stretch where they played 53 shows in 62 days). Best of all, they learned how to play R. Kellys Im a Flirt. These days, its easier to call Aqueduct a theyafter years of enlisting whatever musical pals he could to tour with him, Terry seems to have found himself a relatively stable line-up, one thats particularly fortified by the presence of bassist/vocalist Andy Fitts (Airport Cathedral, With Friends Like These). Furthermore, while hes always recorded Aqueduct albums entirely by himself at home, Terry recently told me hes thinking about crafting the next disc in a studio with the full touring ensemble.
