Blood Squad: I Won’t Be Ignored

An improv troupe that prefers cold-blooded murder, psychopathic obsession, and gory pantomime to the genre’s frantic games, Blood Squad’s shows exploit a simple premise: Bad movies are big fun, especially bad horror movies. After asking audience members to select a title, the four actors create their own version of a low-budget horror film, complete with narrated transitions, slow-motion action, and a cheesy soundtrack. They use the intimate Odd Duck Studio, the humble theatrical equivalent of a double-wide trailer, to their advantage, creating horror-comedy that’s inclusive, focused, satirical, and hilarious.
