It’s officially Rocktober at the Crocodile—major props to booker Pete Greenberg for bringing us both High on Fire and Black Mountain in the same week. I’ve been anxiously waiting (bong in hand) for Black Mountain to head back our way after their deliciously mind-bending set at Neumo’s two years ago. I don’t know whether it was recovery from their mysterious billing on a Coldplay tour or the distraction of multiple side projects (Pink Mountaintops, Lightning Dust), but it’s been far too long since we’ve had the pleasure of an acid-soaked, metal-minded séance conducted by Stephen McBean and company. Psychedelic consumption is suggested, but practically superfluous. With Cave Singers.
