Berklee Quartet

Music

As if Seattle didn’t have enough talented jazz musicians already, tonight offers a chance to enter EMP’s lovely Skychurch and watch gifted young jazz musicians for free. The Berklee Monterey Quartet, comprised of some of the Berklee School of Music’s most talented members, will introduce Seattle to the Boston music school’s signature teaching style. Intent on teaching the music and skills that are important today, Berklee continually evolves with the industry to prepare students for careers in the field. And they seem to be doing the job—all four members of this quartet have played, toured, and studied with accomplished performers such as Wynton Marsalis and Herb Wilson. Berklee’s community outreach program, the Berklee City Music Network, will now extend to Seattle in a partnership with the EMP. As part of EMP’s All Access Nights, the entire museum will be open for exploration, but I would suggest listening to instruments instead of looking at them.
