A large, monopolistic corporation (nope, it ain’t Microsoft) takes advantage of a town’s 20-year-drought by seizing control of public amenities and charging citizens for restroom usage. Capitalism gone amok, incompetent governance, a full bladder… gee, this sure sounds familiar. The three-time Tony Award winning musical/satire Urinetown takes some potent jabs at our society, and at the conventional Broadway musical, with notable performances by Mark Waldstein (as Officer Lockstock) and Alex Garnett (as corporate brown-noser McQueen.)
