And it is available at a store near you. Probably. Golden Glen Creamery of Bow, Washington (in the Skagit Valley) has developed a loyal Seattle following in a short time. This is a family operation, and the milk from the dairy is rBST-free. Milk like this always tastes at least one step richer–skim tastes like 2%, 2% tastes like whole, and whole tastes like nothing you’ve been drinking. Even the 1% milk lingers and has a thickness and certain mouth-coating effect, like after you’ve had a dollop of fresh whipped cream and it clings to your tastebuds. Ah, but what must you pay for something so luxurious and creamy? A pittance–Golden Glen’s milk is five and a half cents less per pint than Organic Valley where I buy it.You can buy Golden Glen Creamery’s milk at the Pike Place Creamery, Magnolia Thriftway, Madison Market Co-op, Whole Foods (Roosevelt & Westlake), West Seattle Thriftway, and select Red Apple Markets.
