Sometime soon, buses are expected to be bumped from the Downtown Transit Tunnel in favor of trains. But for this morning, at least, buses are the only show in the tunnel. Trains are avoiding it because of a power outage at one of the stations, which affects some of their tunnel operating equipment. Sound Transit says it expects the problem will be fixed soon. In the meantime, if you’re riding into downtown, the train will drop you off at the stadium, where you can go old school and catch a bus at the intersection of the Busway and Royal Brougham Way. UPDATE: Restored! Trains are back to their mid-day, every-10-minutes interval, says Sound Transit. UPDATE UPDATE: Wrong! ST corrects itself: Still down.
