Well, it probably won’t be that intense, given that they’ll be discussing a budget that the Council can’t vote on and hasn’t voiced too many concerns with yet, but City Finance director Dwight Dively will present the mayor’s cuts–the ones announced on Friday–to the Jean Godden-chaired City Council Budget Committee at 10:30 AM today. (The Budget Committee, FYI, is the full Council.) As always, you can catch the action on the Seattle Channel (channel 21, or www.seattlechannel.org).The real fireworks are likely to occur after Dively’s presentation, as that’s when the agenda calls for public comment, the first opportunity for such since Nickels announced the cuts. No doubt, aggrieved parties are already lining up.
