In January ’07, a quackish Federal Way parent named Frosty got the school board to prohibit showings of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. When The Daily Show did a segment on the situation (hilarious video here), correspondent Jason Jones called Frosty the parent of a kid at a “Seattle school.”Well, Federal Way is at it again. This time, the school district is prohibiting students from watching Barack Obama’s inauguration–a largely uncontroversial civic event–without a permission slip from their parents. All I ask is this, Daily Show: Be like Uptight Seattleite and make fun of us for the things we are, not the things we are not.
