As you’ve probably read, Ron Sims finally got confirmed as deputy secretary of Housing and Urban Development yesterday, despite some minor drama from Louisiana’s infamous David Vitter over the Armen Yousoufian lawsuit. Uncharacteristically silent, Sims doesn’t appear to have released a statement or even a triumphant tweet on his new Twitter page. (In case you didn’t notice, he’s now simsron, not ronsims. Adjust your feeds accordingly.) Sims is expected to resign today, and Dow Constantine’s asked the blue-ribbon committee to convene in a week to get on with selecting an interim Sims replacement. Kurt Triplett is considered the front-runner, but he has some dogs nipping at his heels.
