Secretary of State Sam Reed’s insistence on promoting a $9.6 million primary (that even John Kerry is aware of, and dismissing as irrelevant) could be at risk of becoming far too easy a target, so I was vowing to let it go for awhile. But then he sent out a press release on behalf of himself and Attorney General Rob McKenna congratulating a state employee for coming up with a tweak to the employee cell phone plan that has saved over $120,000 in tax-payer cash. For those of you keeping score, the fiscally prudent Melanie Palmer–the employee receiving accolades–has saved us tax payers enough to pay for 1.25 percent of Reed’s almost completely irrelevant Presidential Primary.
