Elliott Bay sails away from Elliott BayThe scuttlebutt has been confirmed: EBBC will move up the hill this Spring.”I am convinced that this upcoming relocation will afford us the best opportunity to remain [in business] and further develop as a thriving enterprise,” Elliott Bay Book Company owner Peter Aaron says today, announcing his iconic Pioneer Square store’s long-rumored move to Capitol Hill. The new site was once a Ford repair facility, and renovation is already under way. Skip Berger over at Crosscut reports the store’s new location will be on 10th Avenue between Pike and Pine in a 1918 vintage building. The new space is a bit larger than the current store and will incorporate a cafe and space for author appearances, the company revealed in a statement. A bummer for PSquare, it’s an uptick for the Hill, where the popular Bailey/Coy Books store closed just a couple weeks back.
