Local (and hopefully soon-to-be-global) hip-hop group, Dyme Def, are in an altruistic mood these days. They’re giving away free material to select blogs every week and because of that, they’re building a healthy buzz in the process. Thankfully, my guy Benito from Soul Gorilla, is making sure that Reverb readers stays up to date with the freshest Dyme Def tracks. The latest release is called, “Rollin’ Stone” and was produced by BeanOne. So far, I’m not only loving the track, but also the artwork. It’s either a wolf howling at the moon, which it appears to be on the surface, or an ecstasy pill and a play on the word, rollin.’ Either way, these cats are quickly becoming one of my favorite hip-hop groups in Seattle. I’m eager to catch them live, this Saturday, February 7, at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard as part of a KEXP music showcase. For more info on that show, go here. And you can click here to listen to “Rollin’ Stone.”
