Steve Jobs’ new home is being designed and built by the same architecture firm behind Bill Gates’ Medina mansion. The creator of the iPod’s modest-for-a-billionaire, 5,000-square-foot California house is reportedly “efficient,” “economical” and lacking in “garish bells and whistles.” Meanwhile, Gates lives in an estate the size of Luxembourg, with rooms that automatically temperature-adjust based on who’s inside of them. I wish I could use these two dissimilar dwellings to somehow draw a larger parallel between the vastly different tech companies founded by Jobs and Gates, but wouldn’t you know it I’m just drawing a blank!
