Look at that precious face! France’s SoKo (Stephanie Sokolinski) makes absolutely enchanting music. Her voice is full of raw emotion, her lyrics are brutally honest. I fell in love the moment I heard the stunning song “I’ll Kill Her,” which features SoKo rambling for four-plus minutes about murdering the woman dating the man of her dreams.Last year, the quirky artist recorded a full-length album here in Seattle. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. But out of the blue, she decided she wasn’t quite ready to be a full-time musician. She took all her songs off her MySpace page, scrawled a melodramatic away message (SoKo is Dead), then disappeared. I was devastated.Luckily, it seems that SoKo has resurrected. She’s been tweeting non-stop about music. (She was at SWSW earlier this month). Her MySpace page currently features five new recordings. Let’s hope they stay there.Don’t die on me again, SoKo!
