Troy Mink has been inhabiting Carlotta Sue Philpott since 1997, and neither one of them seems the worse for wear. Mink’s lived-in performance as the gossipy, unflappable Southern matron is so ingenuous, you can sometimes feel it’s wrong to laugh—she doesn’t think she’s funny, so why should you? The incarnation as hostess of this amiably screwy, would-be talk show is one of Seattle’s most extended, expansive feats of acting. If you haven’t experienced Carlotta’s chicken-fried hospitality, don’t miss this opportunity. Theater Puget Sound Stage, Seattle Center House Theater, www.bumbershoot.org for more info. 7:15 p.m. Sun. Sept. 5; 6 p.m. Mon. Sept. 6.
