Nancy Leson just broke the heartbreaking news (since independently confirmed) that Lunchbox Laboratory owner Scott Simpson passed away last night at the age of 38. His restaurant had recently relocated from Ballard to South Lake Union and, as former SW food critic Jonathan Kauffman noted a couple years ago, Simpson was undoubtedly one of the most innovative culinary minds in town. He will be missed, and our hearts go out to his family and Lunchbox Lab staff. Update: Leson is reporting that Simpson “took his own life.”Follow Voracious on Facebook and Twitter.
