On the beginning of their relationship:  Ben:  “We met in the Teaching Fellows Program in New York.  We were in the same class.  That was in June.”

On who mad the first move: Heatherly:  “I’m pretty sure I kissed you.”  Ben:  “It was kinda akward and not romantic at all.  We were at karaoke and just kind of looked at each other, then kissed.”  Heatherly:  “Then he took me home to his mat.  He used to sleep on this small gym mat.  That mat has seen a lot of action.”  Ben:  “I’d still sleep on it.” 

On what happened during the trip out here:  Heatherly: “We were just outside of Custer National Park in South Dakota and this group of buffalo surrounded our car.” Ben: “We found Carhenge in Nebraska.  It’s like Stonehenge but with cars.”

On Seattle:  Ben:  “I love how spread out it is.  You can live outside the city but still be close by”  Heatherly:   “Your drivers are bad though. And so slow!”  Ben: “And mean!”  Heatherly:   “Yeah – Someone called me an f***ing b*tch on the road yesterday and I don’t even know what I did!”  “Oh, and you have great coffee, of course.”

On what they’ve seen during their stay:  Heatherly:  “We’re staying with a friend in Columbia City and got to see their heritage parade this morning.  It was so cute.” “We’ve gone to Pike Place Market and the Seattle Art Museum.”  “We leave tomorrow.”
