Steve Ringman (The Seattle Times)In case you were wondering how John Chelminiak is doing after last month’s bear attack, the Bellevue City Councilmember is leaving the hospital this afternoon. When he was admitted, Chelminiak had nerve damage from lacerations and flesh hanging off his head, said a plastic surgeon at Harborview. He also had to have his left eye removed.Chelminiak, says fellow councilmember Grant Degginger, has been listening to the council meetings during his hospital stay and “isn’t missing a beat.”For those that missed it, the Times posted a video on Wednesday of Chelminiak describing the attack in detail at a press conference held at Harborview.
