ranked Bill Gates as the world’s richest man for the (insert large-number here) year in a row. Coincidentally, the Microsoft co-founder who the magazine says is worth $54 billion also recently endorsed I-1098, Washington’s prospective wealthy-guy income tax. So according to my oversimplified calculations, if the initiative passes he’ll owe (let’s see … carry the one…divide by Pi…subtract the remainder) $4.86 billion! Somewhere, Forbes number two man Warren Buffett is stroking a white cat, smiling and whispering “ex-cellent.”
